Sheepcote
Very wild weather, but a lovely springy afternoon. I engaged Mrs Brown from one of the cottages opposite to come and work here for an hour morning and afternoon, starting on the 22nd. I went to see Mrs Levesley [?] about her and she was not enthusiastic, but said she would prefer her to Mrs Bacon!
Children much better. Awly down to lunch, and Hester to tea.
Grattan turned up in the evening after we were all in bed, and stayed the night.
