Sheepcote
A lovely fresh summer day. Grattan came over to lunch and told us that he had got a new job at the war office and was taking it up next Sunday.
It is some kind of liaison affair linking up the home guards and territorials with the ack-ack, and his C.O. will be Lord Bridgeman. He was chosen direct from the War Office, and I think it is a feather in his cap.
We heard the first cuckoo today. Grattan came back to tea and brought the staff captain (Capt. Shaw) with him.
