A good deal of rain today, which the garden badly needs.
Lil went into Braintree and had tea with Anne, and was very pleased both with her and the baby.
I went in with her as far as Halstead, got my hair waved, etc. etc.
Lady Rycroft rang me up this morning to tell me of Alice Graeme's engagement to a clergyman 15 years older than herself.
