Another fine day. Grattan went up by the 8 o'clock train. Anne saw him off at the station.Ethel left by the 2.20. Mr Tobitt called to take her to the station. I felt tired and rested part of the afternoon. Anne and I had tea out of doors.
General Shikorsky (Polish Prime Minister and Commander-in-Chief) has been killed when a Liberator which was taking off from Gibraltar, crashed.
