Saturday, 7 August 1943

Another dreary day climatically.

Grattan turned up in time for lunch. In the afternoon he and Anne drove over to Great Cornard to see a house ‘Glock’s Hall’ of which particulars had been sent to them by Woodcock, Ipswich. They took Hester and Awly with them.

Anne seems to have quite fallen for the house which G agrees is very nice, but he is not really keen on buying anything so far from London.

Marjorie Mathis brought Nicolas to tea, and Alice and he had some scraps.
