Hester and Awly slept here
Awly went off job hunting but nothing definite. Hester turned up before lunch. She had had a bad nose bleed. In the afternoon she went for a hair do. Awly dined out with James MacLachlan and went to a cinema with him.
Tuesday, 9 September
Hester and Awly slept here
Hester went off after breakfast to spend the day with Susan. Awly went shopping, and in the afternoon we went off to see The Brave Don't Cry at the Gaumont in Edgware Road. It is most awfully good.
Reg rang up in the evening. He is no better yet and thinks he will have to move over to Hove tomorrow. Miss Wyatt and a Mrs somebody came over to see my rooms but they were too expensive for them.
Thursday, 11 September
Hester and Awly slept here
Awly went off job-hunting in the morning and hopes she may be taken by Sadlers Wells. She and Hester lunched with Enid, and I with Lil.
Awly went to see her hostel at Barons Court. Awly's friend James MacLachlan came for drinks and took A out to dinner afterwards. He seems nice and is obviously very épris.
