1 Pelham Place
A very wild day. I did some shopping in the morning. In the afternoon Mabel and I went to the St James Theatre to see A Month in the Country by Turgenev, produced by Emlyn Williams. Very slight but very well acted. After tea I went to see Aunt Julia.
It was Mabel's first play since her illness.
Pippa rang up about 10 pm to say that Wilma had had some more pain in her appendix. The local doctor had seen her twice and though there was nothing urgent, it had been decided she should have it out next week in Tavistock Hospital.
