Sheepcote - Great Wenham Hall
A fine day. I caught the 1.40 bus to Halstead on my way to Wenham. Bet met me with Alice in the pram. She is quite unrecgonizable - a really very pretty child. The house looks most attractive and established.
We had tea, and then Hester and Awly turned up from their school. Both very friendly. We went down to the farm and then ? hay in the paddock. Denis has been sent off somewhere - destination unknown even to Bet, has taken a dinner jacket.
