Hester and Awly slept here
I stayed in bed till tea time when Awly arrived. Hester got here about 7 o'clock and Susan Fane soon afterwards and we had quite a jolly supper only I felt very tired.
Saturday, 16 December
Awly slept here
Arctic cold. I shopped in Clifton Rd, Awly in Oxford St. After lunch Awly went down to Liverpool St to collect 3 boxes of eggs from Bet for family distribution. For the rest of the day we huddled over the fire.

Awly slept here
Heavy fall of snow during the night. Hamilton Terrace thick and white. Awly and Erna went to Farm St for High Mass. We listened in to the Carol Service from Christ's Hospital.
