47 Hamilton Terrace
Fine family post including a very interesting letter from Pips from Trinidad. Ruth Browning came to dine and I think enjoyed herself. Less uncontrolled than sometimes. Reg rang up; rather worried about Joan.

Hester arrived about 12.30 and after lunch went to MacArthur for a hair do. We had meant to go go straight on to the Hagedorns but there was no-one in the house so Hester went straight to her cocktail party at Lexham Gardens, returning at 10 o'clock to fetch her things. She had enjoyed herself very much. Lord Normanby's secretary came to see me after lunch about a smell!!

Wilma slept here
Wilma arrived for lunch and afterwards went out shopping. She and Hester and Awly all turned up for a high tea at 4.30 and afterwards we went to the Curzon to see the Raimu film César, quite first class. Then we all came back to soup and Wilma rang up Betty about a job that Hester thinks she has got. All very exciting.
