Hester rang up to say that Dickie was driving her and Louise up to town and could they come to lunch. It was delightful having them and I found Louise enchanting.
Thursday, 24 February
In the afternoon Pippa turned up and we had a very pleasant time in the drawing room. Later Oswald arrived in his nicest mood and thoroughly enjoyed a large tea on his own. Later they went to a cocktail party to meet some people just back from Pakistan.
Friday, 25 February
Warwick Davies came to tea in the drawing-room and we had a most pleasant time. She telles me she has received an officer's widow's pension and she is sure I am eligible too!!
Interesting to learn that Warwick Davies was a WOMAN!
