1 Pelham Place

Saturday, 2 January 1943

Mabel had a very uncomfortable day, unable to take any nourishment and feeling very sick, and she looked ghastly. Dr Atkinson did not come.
Enid and I lunched at the Tea Kettle in Basil St. and afterwards went on to the National Gallery to see the exhibition of Nineteenth Century French Pictures, and also to hunt for Eric Ravilious's pictures in the War Artist's exhibition. I found a couple of dozen of them, and there may have been more. Enid and I had tea here together.
