Friday, 23 April 1943

I had a wakeful night and rang up the hospital soon after 8. Heard that Anne had had quite a good night. Soon after 12 o'clock Dr Fagge rang up to say a daughter had just been born. Weighing 6 1/2 lbs and a nice baby and both well. I was kept busy with wires and phones. A pouring wet afternoon. I biked down to Sible church for a short service at 3 o'clock.
After tea it turned into a lovely evening, and Lil and I took a nice walk.
