Sheepcote

A lovely day. Amy Birch blissfully happy and we had tea under the copper beech.

A Mrs Lake and her married daughter, Mrs Wallis, came to inspect the house and seemed very taken by it, which rather depressed me! But maybe I shall hear no more of them. They seem to be wealthy manufacturers from Bishops Stortford.

Mrs and Mrs Smith (Mabel’s housekeeper) came up after tea and saw the baby and the garden.
