Week of 13 June 1949

Monday, 13 June

47 Hamilton Terrace

Dr Aubyn came to see me after tea. He did not change my medicine but gave me a great talking to about the absolute need of of a two-hour sleep after lunch.

A letter from Bet. It is not health but finance which has made her alter her plans for coming up.

Friday, 17 June

I went down to Blackheath and had tea with the Mabey family in the lovely garden. A mass of lovely roses, peonies and pinks. The new baby is tall and thin and very good and nice.

Saturday, 18 June

I took life easy and enjoyed myself. Kathleen Hill and Margaret Thompson came to tea and it all went very pleasantly.
