Week of 22 May 1950

Wednesday, 24 May 1950

47 Hamilton Terrace

I rested till Mr Perry Gore (?) came to tea. Most interesting. He told me all about the film of The Murder in the Cathedral which is being made in one of his disused churches. He himself is one of the Supers and T.S. Eliot is taking the part of one of the Templars.

Saturday, 27 May

In the afternoon I went to the National Gallery to see a private collection of pictures which is leaving for the States for 2 years next week. Rubens, Rembrandt, Franz Hals, Van Dyck, Gainsborough, Romney, Lawrence, Money, Manet, Renoir, Fragonard.
