Philippa and Anne Lawrence slept here
Pippa turned up after tea and had an early supper before meeting Philippa and Anne at the Rudolph Steiner Hall for the CH performance of Pinafore. They had all been to the CH Mansion House service and money giving. Erna had watched it.
Thursday, 27 September
Bet rang up to say they had let half their house to some Americans in the Air Force at eight guineas a week. She sounded cheered and cheerful.
Friday, 28 September
Susan Connely, my new lodger, arrived about 5 o'clock. I think she is very nice and she seemed very pleased with her quarters.
