Week of 15 August 1955

Tuesday, 16 August

47 Hamilton Terrace

My lunch party - Kathleen, Awly and Hilda Woodward - went very well but I felt death and stupid.

Friday, 19 August

A very hot summer day. I went down by river to Greenwich with sandwiches and a survey of Pakistan, and spent a delightful couple of hours  by the side of the river.

Saturday, 20 August

Rested in the afternoon till Warwick Davies came to tea. Afterwards we walked down to the Canal and boarded Jason's long boat for the cruise through Regent's Park, Camden Town and Little Venice. Very interesting, we thought, and the owner did his stuff and information so well.
