Monday, 12th August
47 Hamilton Terrace
Notley – 47 Hamilton Terrace
A grey clammy morning, later turning to thunderstorms with downpours of rain. A good night and I woke less tired. Please entertain with Hester please and one of the Portuguese from the Abbey. Had coffee there. Drove into Thame with Hester and one of the Portuguese from the Abbey. Had coffee there. After lunch Hester drove me into Aylesbury to catch my train home. Louise came too and fell fast sleep. Found all well and Clara functioning. Letter from Pips telling me of Nicky and James's arrival. Phoned Mabel. Had May Wilkinson up for a sherry.
